Gem Hunter

Match-three gem hunt — chain combos and clear the board to climb levels.

About Gem Hunter

Gem Hunter is a tight, satisfying match-three puzzle. The board is full of coloured gems, and your job is to swap adjacent ones to line up three or more of the same colour. Matches clear, the gems above tumble down, and new ones drop in from the top — sometimes lining up a fresh combo for free.

The game rewards looking before you swap. Every move counts toward the level goal, and the best plays are not the obvious three-in-a-row matches but the ones that set up cascading clears. Levels introduce blockers and special gems gradually, so the puzzle stays fresh without ever feeling unfair.

How to play

Click or tap a gem, then click or tap an adjacent gem to swap them. Matches of three or more clear automatically. Hit the level goal within the move limit to advance.

DesktopClick — select · click adjacent — swap
MobileTap — select · tap adjacent — swap (or drag a gem onto its neighbour)

Tips & tricks

  • Scan the bottom of the board first — clears there tend to cascade upward.
  • Four-in-a-row creates a power gem. Save them for blockers, not stray matches.
  • Don't make a move just to make one. Wasted moves cost levels.
  • Look for L and T shapes — they often clear two rows at once.
  • When stuck, the board usually offers at least one obvious move; relax and find it.

Setting up cascades

Gem Hunter is deceptively strategic for a match-three: the strongest moves are rarely the obvious three-in-a-row. Before swapping, look up the board for matches that will collapse into fresh combos as gems tumble down, since a single well-placed swap can trigger several clears for free. Work toward the level goal with every move rather than clearing at random, and save special gems for moments when they chain into blockers. As levels add obstacles, planning two swaps ahead keeps the board from locking up.
